The Full Council of Lorca urges the Government of Spain to condemn the violent eviction of the camp Agdaym Izik (29/11/2010)

The three municipal groups urge the Central Government to denounce the systematic violation of human rights in the territories of Western Sahara occupied by the Kingdom of Morocco.

PP and IU demand the resignation of the Minister Trinidad Jimenez.

The Full Council has approved Lorca a joint motion of PP and IU for which it urges the government of the nation to condemn the violent eviction of November 8 Izik Agdaym camp and subsequent repression to activists Saharan in Laayoune by the Kingdom of Morocco.

The Corporation has also urged the National Government to denounce the systematic violation of human rights in the territories of Western Sahara occupied by the Kingdom of Morocco.

In addition, civic groups urged the government of José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero to intensify and deepen relations with the Polisario Front, the legitimate representative of the Saharawi people.

The House has also asked the Central Government to coordinate the necessary actions to complete the decolonization of Western Sahara, through the holding of a referendum on self-determination, including independence, in accordance with international law and Security Council resolutions of the UN.

Municipal parties represented in this way want to pressure the European Union to rescind the fishing agreements with Morocco and stop being a participant in the illegal exploitation of resources.

Finally, both PP and IU have demanded the resignation of Foreign Minister, Trinidad Jiménez, ineffective management of his department in this case, a point which has opposed the PSOE Lorca.
