The general secretary of the PSOE in Lorca, Diego Ferrer, has said it shares the bottom of the Judgement of High Court of Murcia on water rates, but that his party rejected "outright" the intention is for citizens who pay the water industry, as claimed by the PP mayor, Francisco Jodar.
Ferra recalled that, long before 2005, the municipality of Lorca uses a pricing system for sections in which penalizes those who consume more resources and is authorized by the regional government "which is what has the last word."
The Socialist leader said many other municipalities have also been taxing those who make excessive use of a scarce resource in this region such as water.
He also assured that if Jódar this system seems unfair, "has had four years to amend it."
However, during the term of the mayor of PP have made four changes to the fee but have remained the sections and "never called us to the Opposition Groups to discuss this issue."
Ferra also announced that the PSOE will ask the Mayor to convene the other political groups to explain their intention to establish a water tariff for industrial sector will rebound in a rise in water bill for the public.
In that sense, the Socialists are committed to promote the creation of new industries in the municipality "but not at the expense of the pockets of Lorca and Lorca."
