The Mayor of Lorca, Francisco Jodar, and the Director General of Sports of the Autonomous Region, Antonio Peñalver, lay the foundation stone of this new sports facility, which involves an investment of 790,000 euros, financed by the Regional Government.

The Mayor of Lorca, Francisco Jodar, and the Director General of Sports of the Autonomous Region, Antonio Peñalver, have been this morning the first stone of the sports center of the county council of La Hoya, which involves an investment of 790,000 euros, financed by the Regional Government.

Jódar explained that the works have a lead time of 7 months and later, their equipment, so that its opening would coincide with the start of the school year.

This significant sporting infrastructure is part of the ambitious plan being developed by the City Council to run for the legislature 25 projects to create and improve sports facilities costing more than 8 million euros.

The Mayor has stressed that "all these municipal works generate a number of jobs while improving the quality of life of Lorca, especially those in neighborhoods and districts."

Also, this work is part of the comprehensive program that is running the municipal government to provide better services and infrastructure to the village of La Hoya, among which are the opening of a municipal library, a new Citizen Service Center, Territorial Security Center, among other investments.

Jodar has indicated that "precisely in La Hoya has been undertaken over the past three and a half years major improvements to sports facilities, thanks to the efforts of the region and the cooperation of the Director General of Sports, Antonio Peñalver.
