The community invests more than 1.2 million in an employment workshop and a school workshop for 52 unemployed Lorca (26/01/2011)

The Minister of Education, Training and Employment, Sotoca Constantine, accompanied by the Mayor of Lorca, Francisco Jodar, today inaugurated the school workshop and the workshop Athena Apandis employment, which is being developed at the provincial Lorca de La Torrecilla and La Hoya, respectively, which will employ 52 unemployed in the municipality in which the Ministry has invested more than 1.2 million euros.

Sotoca said the 42 students enrolled in the school workshop Athena, which takes place in La Torrecilla, learn or improve their skills in traditional trades such as carpentry, masonry, electricity or plumbing, and also in fields related to renewable energy, graphic design or embroidery.

The ten students Apandis employment workshop, held in La Hoya, refine their skills in fields related to gardening and landscape restoration and will undertake the refurbishment of the area where is located the complex care of Apandis association.

The Job Holder stressed the importance of these initiatives that combine theoretical training with practical, through the execution of works which are considered of general interest and social and noted that both the workshop and the school will seek improvements to the town of Lorca and its citizens.

So he said it is expected that students design the website of the Department of Employment and Local Development, and who undertake the installation work and repair of thermal and photovoltaic installations that will make better use of solar energy, in addition to traditional embroidery work Lorca and improvement work on buildings and offices.

Responsible for Employment said that his department has invested in Lorca over 2 million euros in employment over the last year, which gave a job to 150 unemployed, and over 2.3 million in training the last two years, benefiting some 2,000 workers.
