The House unanimously requested the Government of Spain that will not reduce by 30% aid for solar energy production (28/02/2011)

The three municipal groups have backed a motion of PP which is intended to prevent the loss of 500 jobs and a serious injury to more than 4,000 investors in the municipality.

The Full Council of Lorca unanimously adopted a motion of the Municipal People in requesting the Government of Spain to withdraw the decree which reduced by 30% aid for solar energy production.

Morales explained that the change in legislation sponsored by the Socialist Party is a serious injury to more than 4,000 investors in the municipality and shall entail loss of 500 jobs.

In this regard, the Corporation expressed support for the initiative of the Regional Government to file a constitutional complaint regarding the above mentioned Decree Law 14/2010.

Finally, the motion requires the Central Government that the new regulations governing the field of solar energy in Spain complies with specific Community legislation, as the Spanish government to ensure that any reform should give investors a stable environment, avoiding retroactive changes of the conditions.

Councillor for the Environment of the City of Lorca, Melchor Morales, recalled that Lorca has the perfect conditions to form the basis of these facilities given the vastness of the municipality and is one of the municipalities with the highest levels of sunshine.

Today in our municipality have 67 different licenses and up to 127 farms in various stages of processing.

Some of these farms have been developed by agricultural associations that bring together hundreds of investors, small farmers who hoped to complete his pension with these contributions from solar energy based on current legislation when it borrowed to invest in this clean and renewable energy.

Therefore, a few days ago the President of the Autonomous Community, Ramón Luis Valcárcel, met with the National Association of Producers and Investors for Renewable Energy (Amper) and undertook to submit a constitutional complaint against the State Act.

In this regard, the Municipal Government Team, the Popular Party, has filed this motion with the great harm that this decree could lead to hundreds of small investors Lorca and farmers who may intervene in economic ruin and the lack of security legal to change the rules unilaterally.
