The councilman of Health of the Municipality of Lorca, Antonia Lopez, has been reported that the city council is developing during the day today an information campaign on the occasion of World No Snuff.
Lopez Moya stated that this is an initiative that encourages people to quit smoking, the purpose for which will be shared around the 5,000 printed with information specific to quit smoking as well as brochures Non-smokers, smokers, parents, youth, women and a series of informative posters.
Lopez Moya said that the World Health Organization, has focused the celebration of World No Snuff 2011, highlighting the importance of the Framework Convention Snuff Control (FCTC), and promote efforts to fulfill the obligations of this treaty:
Protecting public health policies from commercial interests and other vested interests of the tobacco industry.
Adopt measures relating to pricing and taxation to reduce the demand for snuff.
Protect people from exposure to tobacco snuff.
Regulate the content of snuff products.
Regulate the disclosure of information on snuff products.
Regular packaging and labeling of snuff.
Warn people about the dangers of snuff.
A ban on advertising, promotion and sponsorship of snuff.
Offer help to quit the addiction to snuff.
Combating illicit trade of snuff.
Prohibit sales to and by minors.
Support economically viable alternative activities for the cultivation of snuff.
The celebration of World No Snuff contributes to reflection, debate and action to combat myths scientific, medical, economic and ethical, and somehow has driven processes that are developing countries to set in motion the Framework Convention.
The objectives of the campaign against building on snuff Lorca Town Hall are:
Provide information to the public about the harms of second-hand smoke exposure to snuff, especially the most vulnerable groups.
Promote smoke-free spaces in the Region of Murcia.
Encourage compliance with the Law 42/2010, which amends Law 28/2005 of health measures against smoking.
Contribute to reducing morbidity and mortality from exposure to passive snuff.
With the celebration of World No Snuff this year, is intended to inform the public about the harmful effects of exposure to tobacco snuff, so you can decide, more informed choices if they want to be exposed to secondhand smoke or not of snuff.
