The charitable funds of the Bureau for Development will be allocated on a priority basis to meet the families of dead and wounded (15/06/2011)

The councilman of Social Services reported that, today, the balance of the City Council for the victims of the earthquake is € 1,152,000.

Lorca's mayor, Francisco Jodar, along with the Minister for Social Policy, Joaquín Bascuñana, chaired the meeting of the Solidarity Committee, formed to channel funds to the various activities to benefit the victims of the earthquake on May 11.

At that meeting the mayor has chosen to give this table an open, to have the greatest possible degree of social representation.

In this regard, Francisco Jodar has indicated that the Board members have joined the political parties represented in municipal (PP, PSOE and IU) and a representative group and platforms have emerged in the city after the earthquake.

The councilman of Social Services City of Lorca, Lali Ibarra, has predicted that the Bureau for Development will be totally transparent, and that the City is the first to set an example in this regard, noting that the account opened by the city administration has, to date today, with a total balance of € 1,152,000.

Lali Ibarra stated that after the victims and their families, the council is committed to assist those who have lost their residence.

Solidarity will own officers who determine what is the best way to meet their needs, focusing on the problems that are emerging.

These, as stated by the mayor, focus on economic issues such as payment of bonds for rental housing and the payment of monthly salaries until they get the aid for this purpose identified by the government.

Lali Ibarra said that the Bureau for Development has agreed that the focus in these cases either individually, with a social report.

The Solidarity Committee has also addressed a question to the mayor's proposal, as is the need to address those business people who have lost relatives because of earthquakes.

The City Council will launch a Municipal Office of Reconstruction

After the first of the meetings held with those who have lost their residence, the mayor reported that served mainly to inform and resolve the many questions raised by attendees during more than two hours.
