For this reason, and trying to avoid this type of collision, today introduced a brand new road called "gallon" and their corresponding vertical signals to be implemented in certain parts of the State Highway network to reduce accidents in such accidents.
This new signal is intended to alert the driver of those stretches of road, and its particular circumstances (frequent congestions, weather conditions, fog or layout of roads, steep-) have an increased risk of accident by reaching, informing the same about the recommended minimum separation between vehicles to avoid this type of accident.
New road markings will be installed in two phases, a pre-departure operation in August, the A-7, A-48, A-49, S-10, A-66, A-44 A-45 , Z-32, N-330 N-125, N-232 N-420, A-40, A-2, A-4, A-5, N-401, A-6, A-67, A -52, N-120, A-13, A-42, A-1 and V-31, in the provinces of Cádiz, Huelva, Seville, Jaen, Malaga, Almeria, Zaragoza, Asturias, Santander, Ciudad Real, Guadalajara, Toledo, León, Palencia, Zamora, Burgos, Tarragona, Cáceres, Lugo, La Rioja, Madrid, Murcia and Valencia.

Description of new signage
