The school works to recover from the earthquake affected proceeding well and ready to begin in September (12/08/2011)

The general manager of Infrastructure and Education Promotion, Jose Maria Ramirez, accompanied by the Councillor for Education and University, Francisco Montiel Felix visited the rehabilitation work that the Ministry of Education, Training and Employment is taking place this summer in the Lorca schools most affected by the earthquakes of last May.

Works as the director, "proceeding well and allow normal classes begin next September."

Ramirez recalled that the primary objective of this work is "full recovery educational spaces to start the next school year as normally as possible."

To do this, the Ministry is working "intensely" on the most urgent works, which mainly affect nine schools and Primary, with investment reaching 4.5 million euros.

Schools in which works are carried out are San Cristobal, Juan González, Pilar Soubrier, San Jose, San Fernando, Jose Robles, Virgen de las Huertas, Alfonso X and Sacred Heart.

More than 400 people are working on repairing the damage and the total rehabilitation of schools, so that students can begin classes at their facilities.

The Director General reminded the effort of the regional government and the immediate response of the Ministry of Education to address the entire process of rehabilitation and educational infrastructure repair most damaged by earthquakes.
