Fourth meeting of the interministerial commission for the management of Lorca Plan (18/08/2011)

The government is considering opening a line of direct support for local traders Murcia and allocate 1% cultural Lorca in 2012

The Central Government has allocated so far 159 million euros to implement measures to repair and rebuild after the earthquake Lorca

The Interministerial Commission for the development of the emergency measures adopted by the Government because of the severe earthquake, which shook Lorca on 11 May, met this morning in the town of Murcia.

At the meeting, the fourth since the earthquakes occurred, attended by the Secretary of State for Regional Cooperation, Gaspar Zarrías, Undersecretary and Director General of Civil Protection of Ministry of Interior, Pilar Gallego and Maria Victoria Eugenia Sanchez, respectively; Secretary General of Housing, Asunción Romero, the government delegate in Murcia, Rafael González Tovar, and representatives of the ministries of the Presidency, Defence, Industry, Trade and Tourism and Culture as well as responsible for the Insurance Compensation Consortium.

The Interministerial Commission for the Plan has met Lorca in the affected locality, when the Sabbath was fulfilled 100 days of the earthquake, and evaluate in situ the actions being developed by the departments involved, explained at a press conference following the meeting Secretary of State for Regional Cooperation, which appeared before the media by the Secretary of the Interior, the general secretary of Housing and the government delegate in Murcia.

Also at the EU level, the Government intends to request that the cost of reconstruction does not count as deficit or the Autonomous Community or the State.

On the other hand, the Interministerial Commission reported that following the meeting of Ministry of Development with the mayor of Lorca to the issue of housing, led by José Blanco Department is waiting for the City of Lorca submit relevant planning installing 300 modular homes (prefabricated) while complete reconstruction or construction of which correspond to those affected.

SUMMARY OF ACTIVITIES

The Interministerial Commission Plan Lorca, at its fourth meeting, reported that the total investment in the measures taken by Royal Decree Law 6 / 2011 amounts to 158.6 million euros.

It also detailed the progress on implementation of projects by departments and agencies involved:

Insurance Compensation Consortium has resolved until August 15, a total of 18,439 cases, representing 68.3% of the dossiers submitted (27 026) This leads to a compensation of 128 million euros paid on a total of 269 million.

In addition, the Consortium has reported that it has opened an Office of Citizen Services.

Ministry of Interior.

Has handled the grant of the total aid for the spouse or partner of the deceased, as well as parents and children of the deceased.

In addition, we have implemented the rental housing aid amounting to 48,241 euros.

Ministry of Territorial Policy and Public Administration reported that the amount estimated for the 177 performances scheduled for the repair of municipal infrastructure amounts to about 40 million euros.

The Department of Fine Arts and Cultural Heritage has provided in the Recovery Plan for Heritage, funds amounting to 17 million.

Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Trade has paid by way of direct grant under the Plan Reindustrialisation Lorca, the amount of 1 million euros.

In addition, 5 million will be approved tomorrow, Friday, 19 by the Council of Ministers for the repair of the Castle-Parador Nacional.

Ministry of Development has paid a total 979,000 euros from the 1% for Cultural Interest in aid to repair the Church of San Mateo and 1.7 million to repair the Palace of Guevara, Wall and Porche de San Antonio.

In addition, performances will be performed in the framework of the National Housing and Rehabilitation, having requested an extension of credit 441,000 euros.

Ministry of Finance provided by the City property tax exemptions and (IBI) for an amount of 10.9 million for 40,990 properties.

Ministry of Education has paid 2 million to repair schools affected by the earthquake.

Regarding the request of SOLIDARITY FUND OF THE EUROPEAN UNION (EUSF), the Autonomous Region of Murcia has begun to process corresponding with the Ministry of Economy and Finance.
