5th ​​Interministerial Committee earthquake Lorca: Spain's government prioritises housing stock available in Lorca and aid for trade (25/08/2011)

Trade immediately available to 1.5 million euros in aid funded by the State

The ministerial committee that provides grants for the earthquake Lorca was held this morning in Madrid under the chairmanship of Minister of the Presidency, Ramon Jauregui, and attended by various representatives of 11 ministries, including the Secretary of State for Territorial Cooperation Gaspar Zarrías, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior, Pilar Gallego and government delegate in the Region of Murcia, Rafael González Tovar.

After its completion, González Tovar has emerged as a central theme of this fifth meeting of the impulse to all actions for the reconstruction and rehabilitation of housing, rent and assistance to tenants.

Reported that the Ministry of Development within the Housing Plan, is able to start next September, the construction of modular homes high comfort of the inhabitants of the land that the City determines and after signing the corresponding agreement with the Community Autónoma which shall have to meet 50% of expenditure by the State will assume the remaining 50%.

Planned construction of 300 houses for approximately 15 million euros.

The first 50 homes could be available, if started in September, about six months, and the remaining 7 to 8 months.

The second important decision, said the delegate of the Government, will be the development of various immediate policy actions planned well in amendments to the Bill or the part of the Platforms and Neighborhood Associations, as well as business organizations and by other administrations.

Among them would look at measures to support trade, would address situations of second home for rent or helping those affected by the earthquake have been relocated to homes of relatives or friends.

With regard to trade and development policy mentioned above, has requested the delegate of the Government to liaise with the Chamber of Commerce and Merchants Associations of Lorca, to determine the priorities of 1,500,000 euros to be received immediately, as contribution from the Plan for Improving Competitiveness Trade for aid that could boost this strategic area of ​​the city.
