The municipal aid for earthquake victims now exceed 1.4 million euros (30/09/2011)

The Local Government Committee this morning approved a new set of different concepts aid amounting to 48,800 euros.

It is approved also expand and relax the threshold for the affected access to them.

The Spokesman of the Communication of the City of Lorca, María del Carmen Ruiz, has been reported that the city council has approved this morning by the Local Government Board, a new aid package for earthquake victims Lorca last 11 May.

Jódar Ruiz has stated that it is a battery of 42 grants distributed between 9 repayable advances, which account for 12,300 euros as well as 33 grants to comply with basic needs.

The latter are aimed at families who have lost their housing because of the earthquake on May 11.

In today's Governing Board has approved spending a total of 35,500 euros in this regard.

This amount includes EUR 800 14 assists, 9 and 11 of 1,000 euros 1,500 euros, a distribution based on the number of family members.

Another proposal was made to grant a further 1,000 euros to cover expenses made by different kinds of injuries caused by earthquakes.

Communication Spokesperson has made balance of the aid approved so far by the council, based on criteria approved unanimously by the various meetings of the Bureau for Development.

In this regard it is noteworthy that until today has been given the green light to a total of 564 grants for basic necessities and 163 repayable advances to meet the payment of rent.

Funds committed to the Bureau for Development today amount to a total of 1,454,480 euros.

It should be remembered that has waged a quantity of 500,000 euros for Ceclor, through their professional activities to make the recovery of economic activity and trade.

It is also planned to book a total of 637,000 euros to meet the requests that may come from many families who have lost their homes and have not yet requested aid.

Margins to expand access to aid

Jódar Ruiz has stated that the Board of Governors approved two motions related more attention to Lorca earthquake victims.

This is a proposal extending for 3 months plus the cover provided by way of repayable advances for rental housing, and another motion that extends from 1,300 to 1,600 euros the income threshold for access to the aid provided for City Hall.

The latter includes also special studies in the case of large families petitioning for aid.

Both proposals, which were presented and approved unanimously at the meeting of the Bureau for Development held on Tuesday, have obtained the green light today, and to accelerate their processing, all callers will have at their disposal the information and advice points to the injured enabled the Consistory held at the Cultural Center of the City.

It helps to remember that these are paid by the fund that manages and organizes the Solidarity Committee, based on proposals and decisions set out within it.

Murcia hosts the Monday meeting of the Joint Commission, which are 1500 records
