The Government creates a Commissioner to promote and coordinate actions under earthquake Lorca (07/10/2011)

The Government delegate, Rafael González Tovar, announced today that at its meeting this morning, the Council of Ministers approved by Royal Decree, the establishment of the Government Commissioner for the follow-Lorca earthquake.

The Commissioner will not increase public spending, originates from the need to continue the activities undertaken and to promote new line with the developments.

Undersecretary of Public Works, Jesus Hita Miranda, has been appointed Commissioner by the Government, by Royal Decree on a proposal from the Presidency and Ministers of Development and functionally controlled by the Minister of the Presidency and Minister of Public Works organically.

The powers of the Commissioner will be the promotion, coordination, monitoring and, where appropriate, the proposal to the Government of the actions necessary to repair the damage caused by the earthquake of Lorca.

He shall have carried out reports and call and chair meetings of the interministerial committee established by Royal Decree 6 / 2011, which corresponds to the Vice Secretary of the Interior.

For this, the Commissioner shall be assisted by an Office which will have administrative support and material of the various Ministries and Government Delegation.

This office will be headed by the chief of staff to Secretary of Public Works, Thomas Moreno Well, without their roles are paid.
