350,000 euros to continue the recovery of public spaces in Lorca (23/12/2011)

The Governing Council has authorized the grant to the city of Lorca, amounting to 350,000 euros, to continue with the recovery of damages in the city after the earthquake of May 11.

The aids are part of the Local Public Employment Program and allow for the temporary hiring of about 30 unemployed carry out works and services of general interest and social development in the municipality.

Specifically, 14 unemployed are responsible for rehabilitation and restore those buildings and public spaces both the urban as the districts most affected by earthquakes.

These include Aguaderas, Marchena, Cazalla, Campillo, Tiat, Torrecilla, Terce, Sutullena, thumb, Listen, Puri, and Punta La Hoya, among others.

In addition, 16 other unemployed hired for the assessment, technical, administrative and legal assistance to those affected by earthquakes.

The deadline for implementation of the reconstruction, repair and rehabilitation will be funded until June 30, 2012.

These payments are added to the Special Employment Plan launched by the regional government in the town of Lorca, and that has cost 3.1 million euros.

This plan allowed awarded several grants to the City and the hiring of more than 200 unemployed people who have been working on the rehabilitation and restoration of buildings and public spaces most affected by earthquakes.
