Pedro Sosa and Isabel Casalduero, Green councilors and PSOE-IU, respectively, in the city of Lorca, calling for the resignation of Councillor for Culture, Sandra Martinez to see their work in front of it offers no guarantee of maintaining the Lorca's cultural services.
The councilors have denounced first the economic cut announced by it for the Band and School of Music, which hits up to 34% as reported by the same shuffle.
According to Sosa Casalduero and this is somewhat surprising because there has never been cut out as spectacular, which will undoubtedly lead to practical dismantling of both services, an issue that society does not deserve Lorca.
That represents 34% in absolute values ​​around 80,000 € that after all is less than 0.1% of the 86 million budgeted by the City for 2011.
Councillors considered that Ms. Martinez is putting at risk of extinction an institution with nearly 85 years ago that provides a public service throughout the municipality.
Regarding the Municipal Music School, the mayors recalled that in this course are being taught in the same about 330 students, the highest in its history, which formalized the tuition in exchange for a service whose provision the councilor is putting at risk with this cut of 34% to 60,000 euros that the school received today.
With regard to the Municipal Band, recalled that it had been receiving about 174,000 euros for payment of scholarships to 36 musicians who compose it, social insurance and other operating expenses, noting that Mrs. Martinez seems to have forgotten that behind these scholarships are people who had the money to meet their mortgage, unemployed people, many of them still suffering the effects of the earthquake, and to be found in a difficult situation if it applied the so disproportionate budget cuts.
Representatives of both bands believe that a public manager must know how to prioritize the actions within their area, something that clearly has been shown not know how Mrs. Martinez to lead to the serious situation that can be both the School as the Municipal Band.
This report adds the opinion of the councilors of the two political groups on the coordination work no such councilor is putting in his council, as neither is sensitive to the demands and needs of different groups, which are slowly checking such as municipal institution away from them, nor, moreover, is able to harmonize, coordinate and maximize the significant human capital available in their service.
