Lorca is hosting this Friday Plenary Lecture "From the guild craft guild devotional" (07/02/2012)

Dr. Gregoria Cavero, University of Leon, will be responsible for this act, sponsored by the Center for Medieval Studies at the University of Murcia, to be held on February 10 at 20 pm in the Cultural Hall CajaMurcia.

The Councillor for Culture of the City of Lorca, Sandra Martinez, reported this morning that the Cultural Hall in Lorca CajaMurcia host on Friday February 10 to 20 hours Plenary lecture "From craft guild to guild devotional" organized by the Centre for Medieval Studies at the University of Murcia in collaboration with the Consistory and the Foundation Cajamurcia Lorca.

Martinez explained that "the conference will be borne by the Doctor from the University of Oviedo Cavero Gregoria Dominguez, whose teaching career has been entirely developed at the University of León. Cavero is, today, the highest expert in medieval guilds Spain, from its origins to its transformation into these guilds we know now of processions and devotions, so this research is often claimed in seminars and conferences in Europe, but the Lorca we will have the opportunity to hear your knowledge in our city ".

These brotherhoods arise in the Middle Ages as a group of persons to care and welfare of its members.

And from there to its evolution in the modern age where guilds come and devotion, is the subject of the presence of Dr. Cavero in the city.

The event is part of the activities that the Centre for Medieval Studies at the University of Murcia develops not only in the city but in the region and beyond.

"In this case this event is part of the previous activities that have been conducted in the municipality to promote our Easter festival declared of International Tourist Interest," added Martinez.

The idea is to bring the people of Lorca's why the holidays views so informative and easy by whom they have seen and researched the past of what were the Easter celebrations for centuries and they are now.
