The City of Lorca and the Autonomous promote risk prevention among 1,100 pupils from Primary 5 ° of the campaign "Grow in Security" (22/02/2012)

Councillor of Education of the City of Lorca, Francisco Montiel, and the Director of the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health of the Autonomous Community, Tomas Perez, presented this morning a new edition of risk prevention campaign among students "Grow in security "in this course may participate more than 1,100 5 th of all 34 primary schools in the municipality Lorca.

So far confirmed their participation and 13 of these schools, representing a significant increase over last year enrollees.

Montiel explained that "the objective of this campaign is to instill both teachers and students the concepts of prevention in different environments. Topics to be discussed are related to risks that can happen to the school, such as burns, falls, electrical hazards , contact with toxic chemicals, cuts in others. In addition, these workshops include prevention measures in case of earthquakes, which complement the lectures that the City is providing all schools with the collaboration of Banco Santander ".

The council stressed that "this activity for the dissemination of prevention, we hope that from smaller ages, know the habits of safe and healthy, and know how to act in schools, parks, even in their homes."

Furthermore, she added that "this work is performed on the three key areas of socialization of children: school, family and neighborhood."

In this regard, the Ministry of Education of the Autonomous Community has a risk prevention service that all schools can apply to assess the necessary improvements to their facilities to avoid them.

For its part, the director Tomas Perez stressed that what they want, since they initiated these campaigns for years, is to introduce kids to act knowing that there are risks and ensure that their actions are so healthy, safe and healthy.

Within this program will develop voluntary and talks aimed at totally free teachers and students.

Thus, we will inform teachers and tutors for the content of the project and provided with the information necessary to resolve doubts and questions that they can to put to their students.

In addition, each participating teacher will receive a teaching dossier, which contains guidance on the content CD to work, case studies, instructions for conducting an emergency evacuation drill in schools, and a satisfaction questionnaire after the campaign sent to the Institute.

For their part, talks to students will last approximately one hour, and during the same will be presented to participating students the project "Security Grows" which will develop preventive issues.

In addition, each student will receive a CD with the content to work in the campaign, as well as a comic, a very visual way to collect all training aspects of the campaign.

Also, it has organized traditional drawing contest in the second quarter of the school calendar, where you can choose, on a local stage, 15 awards.

These awards will be a digital camera for the first four, five and MP4 for the following six lots of books.

The drawings must be in A4 size using any pictorial technique, with the theme of the exhibition "Growing Security."

Each student may submit only one work.

In the face of the work shall specify the name, age and school to which the pupil.

The winning entries may be submitted by the City Council to be able to visit by / the people / as the municipality.

Finally, Perez pointed out that this initiative is part of the 4 th Occupational Hazard Plan 2008-2012, which aims to reach all of society Murcia.
