IU-Greens presented a motion to urge the central government to ease the deficit by the catastrophe of Lorca (01/03/2012)

IU-Green has filed a motion in the Regional Assembly to urge the government of Spain to more flexible public deficit target for the Region of Murcia, in order to enable it to address "more intense" recovery of Lorca.

The spokesman for the training in the regional parliament, Jose Antonio Booming, explained that a relaxation of the deficit target would enable the Community to have more resources to address the situation of the city, "which remains stuck" because the authorities "have not met its commitments. "

Booming recalled that the Community has signed a protocol which promised to pay 50 percent of the relief efforts for housing rehabilitation and resettlement, of which the regional government so far has only 1.7 million euros.

Another "crucial" to address the recovery of Lorca is, in his view, the reconstruction of the two schools toppled, "Ros Giner" and "Ramon Arcas", for which the regional government "has not provided any item in the budget 2012 ".

It has also complained to the Community to intervene in two of the affected neighborhoods, San Fernando and Alfonso X, each consisting of social housing and in the Conservatory, as the teachings depend on the regional administration although the building is municipal.

"Lorca is anxiously awaiting recovery and government are the ones who have to carry out this process effectively and quickly," concluded Pujante.
