Councilman Trade of the City of Lorca, Eduardo Sanchez, has been reported that the Municipal opens tomorrow the deadline for submission of applications for financial assistance for uninsured traders whose business was damaged by earthquakes.

Abad explained that Sanchez may be granted is help individuals or legal owners of the business or commercial establishments, industrial or services (trade and / or traders) that as of May 11, 2011, had business or commercial and were available at the time of the earthquake insurance policy in force and which are not beneficiaries of any other public assistance as a result of malfunction or damage to facilities for the same reason.

It is envisaged that traders hit by the earthquake can receive up to € 8,000 based on this new package of economic assistance.

Councilman has detailed, according to the forecasts made on the basis of data provided by entities such as Ceclor, Hostelor and Chamber of Commerce, could benefit from this line of support a total of 550 traders Lorca.

This project has a budget of 1 million and half euros, is aimed to act specifically on the damage or deterioration in individual business establishments, and is encompassed within the criteria in the Agreement signed between the Ministry of Tourism and Lorca City Council, pursuant to Royal Decree Law 17/2011 of 31 October.

Applications must be submitted in the office for processing aids Lorca City Council has authorized for that purpose in the Cultural Center of the City within one month (from tomorrow, Thursday, March 8 until Friday 13 April) .

- Aid from the Ministry of Tourism to Hostelor CARM: 200,000 €

- Aid for reconstruction and rehabilitation of the Directorate

The damages caused by the earthquake affecting the whole village, and represent an initial cost estimated around 841 million euros of direct impact on city revenues.

The duration of the earthquake can be very long for his own estimate of the duration of the repairs necessary to remedy its effects, although the technical term, always over a year, part of the hypothesis that it has all the financial resources to undertake these repairs.

The current budgetary situation is far from having all these financial resources to begin to address all the expenses that caused the earthquake, and therefore the actual duration of the damage can extend much further in time, thus risk that the municipality of Lorca never can regain some normalcy after this natural disaster.

To date 708 businesses have been accounted affected, accounting for 59.94% of the total (1,181) in Lorca.

According to economic estimates made by stakeholders on the impact of the quake in their business, it is estimated a shortfall of € 6,297,744.65.

As traders dedicated to the craft, have been counted artisans affected 50 companies, representing 58.8% of total (85) of Lorca.

Referring to the traders for the hospitality, have been counted 210 affected catering business, which accounts for 71.67% of total (293) in Lorca.
