The Government delegate, Joaquin Garcia Bascuñana, today announced that the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Environment has granted SPAIN FOOD PRIZE for agricultural production to the cooperative Alimer Lorca - MEDITERRANEAN FOOD.

With Spain's Food Awards 2011, the Ministry recognizes the work of companies and professionals who have distinguished themselves by producing, processing, distributing and providing consumers with quality food, and their contribution to the Spanish food sector in a sustainable and efficient.

The award goes to ten ways: Agricultural Production, Food Processing, Distribution and Food Trade, Food, Organic Production, Young Entrepreneurs, Women Entrepreneurs, Mediterranean Diet, Food Communication and Promotion, and a Special Prize Food of Spain.

In the journalistic report of granting these awards is said Alimer - Mediterranean Food is a modern multi cooperative, competitive and important dimensions, engine of the cooperative economy in Southwest Spanish.

In Alimer seamlessly integrate all elements of the production chain, allowing for recovery of production.

It also values ​​its commitment to innovation, new technologies and diversification of products and activities, environmental management, optimization and use of resources and employment generation in rural disadvantaged.

-PRIZE FOOD OF SPAIN TO THE RESTORATION: PONCELET FOOD, CHEESE SL-BAR, Madrid.

-PRIZE FOOD OF SPAIN FOR ORGANIC PRODUCTION: NATURIX ACUICULTURE, SL, Valderrebollo (Guadalajara).

-SPAIN FOOD PRIZE TO YOUNG ENTREPRENEURSHIP: David Ramos trout, manager of pudding Villada Villada (Palencia).

-PRIZE FOOD OF SPAIN TO WOMEN ENTREPRENEUR: Maria Mercedes Segade Guerreiro, creator of the Goods Ecolóxicos Granxa Maruxa, SLU, Monterroso (Lugo).

-AWARD SPAIN MEDITERRANEAN DIET FOOD: Mediterranean Diet Foundation.

-AWARD SPAIN FOOD COMMUNICATION: RTVE CORPORATION / TVE, for the "The morning of the 1: Learn to live and cook."

-PRIZE FOOD OF SPAIN FOOD PROMOTION: The National Association of Canned and Seafood - national technical center of canned fish products (Anfaco-Cecopesca), Vigo (Pontevedra), for its "A Can of Solidarity" .
