Councillor of Tourism of the City of Lorca, Francisco Montiel, reported that on 20 and 21 June, will take place in Lorca the VI Regional Conference on Rural Tourism under the title "The Tourist Destination in Rural Areas".
Montiel explained that this is the third consecutive year that are held in Sun City, in 2010 after the organization of the conference deposited their trust in this town and reaffirmed last year, despite the proximity to earthquakes May.
The mayor of Tourism has indicated that this conference are driven from the Department of Applied Economics at the University of Murcia, with the collaboration of the National University of Distance Education and the city of Lorca.
This year in addition to collaboration in the organization, different agencies and companies such as the Tourist Consortium Lorca Workshop of Time, which it did in previous years; ETNOTUR, which manages a cooperative of businesses in rural areas, the Wine Route Bullas and Wine The Renas (Bodega del Rosario, DO Bullas)
Francisco Montiel stated that the aim of the conference is to bring everyone involved in this sector and examples of management tools from a multidisciplinary perspective so as to approach the reality of this sector and reflect together on problems and possibilities of rural tourism in the region.
