The residence of elderly San Diego de Lorca has expanded to four the number of places, thanks to the restoration and renovation of facilities that were undertaken after the earthquake in Lorca.

The Minister of Health and Social Policy, Maria Angeles Palacios, with the mayor of Lorca, Francisco Jodar, and the Bishop of the Diocese of Cartagena, Jose Manuel Lorca Planes, today visited the residence that has been under construction the last 14 months, but which have already returned all users.
The works have been also the rehabilitation of the property, the rehabilitation and improvement of facilities and services including a new elevator and expanding the number of places.
The project will have invested 1.3 million euros, with input from the Consortium of Insurance, State contributions charged to income tax and other aid agencies have also collaborated with the Foundation that manages it.
On the basis of residence 40 professionals working at 76 users who currently occupy and, since last June 28, again enjoy the services, among others, nursing, podiatry, counseling, workshops, library, social and physical activity cognitive, which offers its residents.
