Lorca Athletes Mantecón Ursula Ruiz and Sergio will be honored during the day on Thursday September 13 for their participation in the Olympic Games in London (11/09/2012)

Both Lorca athletes who participated in the London Olympics will be honored during the day on Thursday, as announced by the Councillor of Sports City of Lorca, Augustine Flames.

The mayor stressed that "our intention is to publicly congratulate her city from both athletes for their participation in the 2012 Olympics, while we create a meeting so they can share with us all the stories about this experience."

So, on the morning of Thursday, specifically at 11 hours, both athletes will be received at City Hall by Mayor protocol, Francisco Jodar, who will give them the congratulations for bringing the city of Lorca to full sporting event worldwide.

By afternoon, from 20.30, the CajaMurcia Cultural Hall will host a talk with Ursula Ruiz.

Mantecón may not be in the same position that it will participate in the Tour of Galicia road race.

It started in mountain biking as a hobby at age 12 after watching a World Championships in Sierra Nevada, at age 16 to start competing.

Since then his rise has been unstoppable, becoming several times champion of Spain and getting medals in virtually all modes.

Running with the team wears Wild Wolf Trek Pro Racing since 2008.

In this 2012 won the title of Champion of Spain in the championship held in Lorca in July, was also 2nd in the European Championship held in Moscow in June, the same month that was in 2nd test World Cup held in USA.

In his debut at the Olympics finished in 22 th place.
