With the establishment of this body Lorca takes an important step in eradicating violence against women.
From this point we will optimize resources, creating synergies that attention needed to reach the highest levels of excellence.
The Mayor of Lorca, Francisco Jodar, chaired this morning the constituent meeting of the Local Board against Gender Violence.
This is an instrument designed to combat this violence and whose aim is to optimize all resources and actions to eradicate this social evil.
The mayor pointed out that any society that wants to grow needs to do from respect.
It is especially important to respect women.
We can not allow that in the XXI century long as violence against women.
We can not allow this shameful ignominy remains current.
We can not allow that there are women who suffer in silence and solitude abuse.
Since all dimensions of society need to work together so that women suffering know they are not alone.
They have our full support and all.
But above all, we offer all the tools needed to end this scourge.
No women have to endure any physical or psychological aggression, no woman has to be condemned to suffering.
The City of Lorca, in programming we do to mark the International Day Against Gender Violence which falls on November 25, we wanted to carry out the creation of the Bureau of Local Coordination Against Gender Violence .
This new agency to promote coordination between stakeholders involved in the fight against gender violence and to improve care for women who suffer.
It is a working tool under constant review, because what we want is to consolidate as a useful tool, and therefore will always be available to any ideas for improvement.
The ultimate goal will be promoting at the municipal level policies and actions for the eradication of violence, which will:
Enhancing early detection of cases
Optimizing coordinating participants, performances and resources
Offering an agile and improving the protection of victims and sensitizing the general population.
The Board is chaired by the Councillor for Women City of Lorca, Lali Ibarra, and included:
Veronica Lopez, Director General of Prevention of Violence Against Women, Youth, Legal Protection of Children and Reform of the Autonomous Community.
Rocío Fons, Magistrate-Judge of the Court of First Instance and Instruction No. 4 of Lorca with exclusive competence in gender violence.
Luis Aran, Attorney Dean of Lorca.
Francisco de Paula Garcia, Chief Commissioner of the National Police of Lorca.
Juan Amoros, the local police chief.
Representative of the Guardia Civil in Lorca.
Catherine Lawrence, manager Rafael Méndez University Hospital.
Jose Antonio Lopez, Director of the Office of Employment Lorca.
Agustin Garcia, Advisor for Diversity of Language and Communication Center of Lorca.
Juan de la Cruz Garcia, Director of the Center for Social Services City.
The Bureau is composed of professionals and safety emergencies, municipal services involved in caring for women who are abused, the judiciary and the Autonomous Community, in order to unify the work, providing global response and improve care women.
The Bureau shall meet ordinarily semiannually, and extraordinarily whenever circumstances so warrant or necessary.
With the establishment of this organization, Lorca takes an important step in eradicating violence against women.
From now on we will work together, optimizing resources, creating synergies that attention needed to reach the highest levels of excellence.
By gravity is a violation of women, all people who make up this society we have to bring our personal effort, our involvement and our commitment to get up defeating the cowardly sneak attempt against women.
