The City enables a direct information service through the Internet so that people can check air quality (11/02/2013)

This is a service that offers all the current data on the state of the air.

The data analysis showed that the state of the air in Lorca is good, and that the last time there was a negative impact was six years ago, specifically in 2007.

The Aldermen of the Information Society and the Environment of the City of Lorca, Francisco Garcia and Melchor Morales respectively, presented this morning a new information service through the internet that allows any citizen who wishes to consult the state with air quality in our town.

Cabrera Morales explained that this is a result of progress meetings are regularly maintained by the Board members of the Local Agenda 21.

In his last work session, which took place last week, revealed the need for further progress in the process of bringing environmental information to citizens to avoid misunderstandings.

In this regard, the City Council have provided a shortcut to interested citizens can have the objective data of air quality.

The link has been established on the municipal website through a link on the website of the Department of Environment and on the website of the local Agenda 21

Melchor Morales said that with this new resource that can be accessed Lorca citizens to obtain information on actual and objective data on this issue.

Hope this link dispel the doubts that may exist in this regard, since the reality is that the air quality in our town is good and has no warning signs that should be of concern to society.

In fact the last time thresholds are exceeded was 6 years ago, specifically in 2007, with another administration in front of City Hall.

In any case, since this Council we will continue to monitor the quality of our air as we believe that prevention is the most effective tool to prevent possible incidents.

Environment Councilman noted that in the work session last week's Local Council Agenda 21 showed that Lorca is a city contaminant, and that there are data that indicate that the situations in which the quality air worsens due to the arrival of concentrations from other areas.

So far, two options are being considered on its merits; either arriving from the sea or is the terrain and air channels which determine the arrival of these clouds of poorer quality to our city.

This is an issue that is already working by the Autonomous Community through the Directorate General of Air Quality of the Ministry of Environment.

This online resource offers citizens all information and data concerning the level of ozone concentration thresholds provisional index, annual and daily data, provisional diagnosis, possible intrusions of Saharan dust and the draft National Quality Plan Air and atmospheric protection, AIR Plan 2013-2016.

You can also access the quarterly report on air quality in the Region of Murcia, with maximum values octohorarios, measurement campaigns tropospheric ozone and the regional map of the existing measuring stations in our community.
