Lorca City Council gives green light for the second phase project to improve waste plant, which will execute the Autonomous Region (13/06/2013)

The Local Government has made available to the Presidential land and planning permission for this regional investment of 1.3 million euros to launch the new line of compost refining.

Environment Councilman City of Lorca, Melchor Morales, has reported that the Local Government has made available to the Presidential land and planning permission to carry out the second and final phase of improving waste plant Lorca, which will involve a regional investment EUR 1.3 million to launch the new line of compost refining.

This phase of the project for improvement and adaptation of Lorca waste plant will complement the new treatment plant recently opened.

The comprehensive improvement and adaptation of Lorca waste plant, which already has the innovative new system that will triple the recovery of materials, will be completed with Phase II, for the compost refining line, whose actions consist of construction of a ship, the installation of a new line of refining up to 12 tons per hour, the expansion and upgrading of existing ancillary facilities and the provision of services and urbanization.

The infrastructure under Phase II, will be installed attached to the new treatment plant on the surface of the Waste Management Centre of Lorca, in Barranco Hondo.

The proposed Phase II compost refining line, and has been awarded by the regional government with a budget of EUR 1,341,319.42 and execution period of 12 months.

The project of improvement and adaptation of Lorca waste plant, is entirely an investment of around five million euros.

2013-2020 Action Plan on the Environment Council

Melchor Morales has also explained this morning that the City Council of the Environment and Sustainable Development will meet, among other things, to report the approval of the Local Action Plan 2013-2020 horizon.

In addition, the mayor distributed among the attendees "CO2 meters", with tips on how to reduce emissions with good habits.
