Education increases of 21-31 students residing in the Special Education Center Soubrier Pilar Lorca (16/10/2013)

The Ministry of Education, Universities and Employment for this course has increased from 21 to 31 the number of students serviced residence in the Special Education Center Soubrier Pilar Lorca, one of the public schools in the region that provide this service.

At present, a total of 136 students are enrolled in this center that responds to special educational needs associated with mental disabilities, sensory, motor, severe developmental or multiple disabilities that require very significant curricular changes in all areas and specific personal resources.

As for the service of residence, the center is provided in cases in which the social and family reasons so indicate on the report of social services.

The 31 students this year we receive come from towns like Cartagena, Mazarrón, Aguilas and Fuente Alamo.

The Soubrier Pilar has 46 teachers, mostly with the specialty of pedagogy and speech and hearing therapy, and 66 non-teaching professionals serving various social work services, physical therapy, health, educational and technical aids educators counseling service.

The Director General of Educational Planning and Attention to Diversity, Begoña Iniesta, visited by the Councillor for Education of Lorca, Francisco Felix Montiel, center and praised the work done by the professional team at this center.

Iniesta said: "This center is a regional reference and doubles as supporting Resource Center teaching developed by the other schools. This implies that meet the demands of professionals, borrowing materials, bibliographic and adapted equipment and technical support informing and collaborating in their use. "

The last course Soubrier Pilar professionals attended 83 requests for assistance and made 33 visits to other schools, highlighting the custom abutment Open Classrooms in the area.

The center has 24 units in operation stages of Child, Basic and Vocational Training, Transition programs to Adulthood in the branches of Handicrafts, Textile Agricultural Activities and leather wear, as well as two Initial Professional Qualification Programmes Body and Building and Civil Works.
