The Mayor and Councillors of Education come together to launch a sound bank accounts intended for people who can not read (24/10/2013)

The Mayor Aldermen and Education Policy Council of Lorca, María del Carmen Ruiz and Francisco Montiel respectively, reported that the city council will launch a new activity involving the creation of a sound bank accounts to facilitate access reading for all those who for any reason (mobility problems, vision, hospitalization, etc..) can not make use of the municipal library books, and of course for anyone who wants to listen.

This is going to proceed to the recording of a series of short literary readings, whose voice is that of several people (actors, poets, teachers and journalists) who have generously agreed to collaborate by lending his voice.

These recordings will be published through Web portals Municipal Library and the Department of Social Policy of Major.

Parallel workshops will be held writing and storytelling that enable the authors to record their stories, thus expanding the channels of participation of our major turning them into creators and narrators of their own stories.

This project is included in the First Campaign to Promote Reading for seniors, carried to term by both Councils, in collaboration with the Municipal Library "Pilar Barnes", which is developing activities such as:

Information and dissemination of existing resources in the library reading and facilitating their access to, and information about the possibility of socio-cultural Reading gives us.

Making arranged visits the library network for awareness to the world of books.

Incorporation of our elders to book clubs existing in our library.

Lending of reading material (books font size XL) to institutions dedicated to higher to create their own clubs.

Loan movies according to the readings for adults.

Lending of reading material according to the cognitive needs of our elders (plus reading books, easy books ...)

Development of a selected bibliography dedicated to leisure, health and welfare of our elders, whose publication made on the website of the Department of Higher and public libraries.

The return of the "Saturday story"

Education Councilman anticipated further that, coinciding with the first school term, we continue this year with the "Saturday Story".

These Storytelling will be held in collaboration with the Cultural Fund Espin, in the auditorium of the same.

Thus, 12 to 13 hours, you can listen the most beautiful, entertaining and fantastic stories, from the hand of professional accountants.

Programming is as follows:

October 26: juanolo (Alfonso Lopez).

November 9: Chufa (Tape Gomez).

November 30: Felix Albo.

December 14: Carmen Navarro.
