The Mayor and the Director of Public Works meet with residents of La Viña to present the project awarded works (28/10/2013)

This project is framed in the urban renewal plan that is conducting the regional administration, which benefits the neighborhoods of La Vina, San Fernando, Alfonso X, San Jose, San Pedro and San Diego, as well as the accessibility of the Castle , with a combined investment of over 50 million euros.

The Mayor of Lorca, Francisco Jodar, by the Director of Public Works and Planning of the CARM, Antonio Sevilla, have held a briefing with neighborhood residents of the Vineyard who presented the awarded project works comprehensive regeneration of this area.

This briefing has been developed in the school auditorium Perez de Hita.

This is the action in relation to more ambitious works that has been done in this area, looking at a total investment amounting to 5.8 million euros.

Among the most notable include the repair and improvement of urban infrastructure for electricity, sanitation and water supply.

The pedestrianization of roads, with the aim of promoting accessibility, allow connectivity between neighborhoods, as well as performances of energy efficiency and sustainability.

Are planned urban gardens and a monument at its center, a tribute to the neighborhood that recalls its origins wine.

To carry out these works, the Ministry of Public Works and Planning signed an agreement which states that the Community shall process the corresponding contract files required for the implementation of the proceedings, after making the necessary administrative procedures in all cases, and urban, where appropriate.

The objective of this important battery works is to stimulate economic development, trade and mobility, create structures that will ensure full accessibility and regain the overall image of the city.

It also seeks to achieve maximum integration between city and nature by introducing and upgrading infrastructure to contribute to energy savings.
