Council starts next week a campaign to promote tourism in localities Easter Almeria (07/02/2014)

The exhibition will travel to Roquetas de Mar, Cuevas del Almanzora, where it will be exposed in the castle of the Marquis de los Vélez, Vera (Convento de la Victoria) and Almeria (Oliveros Mall).

It aims to support the candidacy of Lorca embroidery on its way to be declared World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

The Councillor for Tourism of the City of Lorca, Francisco Montiel, reported that the city council on 10 February starts next Monday a campaign to promote parades Passionate Easter Bible to be developed in locations in Almería.

This initiative, included within continuing outreach tourist potential of Lorca we carry to term by this Council, aims to fulfill two aspects: on one hand to consolidate and increase the visits we are already getting to enjoy our parades from nearby municipalities, and, moreover, arouse interest in discovering our big party in new locations.

We show that the connection with our parades Almería is a fact that has been increased over the years.

In fact part of procesionistas participating in parades come precisely from this province, which has a strong equestrian tradition that Lorca Steps also feed.

This exhibition also aims to exploit the tourist nature of these municipalities, their synergies and permanent residential tourism that exists in Almeria coastal enclaves, with the aim of promoting the candidacy of Lorca embroidery and its staging in our processions to be declared heritage of humanity by UNESCO.

Francisco Montiel explained that this initiative, which will be developed in close collaboration with the Cultural Association "Liceo Lorca" and whose president Javier Pinilla, has been present in this presentation, starts on Monday February 10 in the town of Roquetas de Mar, an event which will be attended by the mayors of Lorca, Francisco Jodar, and the town, Gabriel Amat, who also holds the responsibility of President of the Council of Almería.

The venue for the presentation will be the Plenary Hall of the Municipality of Roquetas.

The show can be seen in the historic Castillo de Santa Ana from 11 to 19 February.

The exhibition comprising promotional videos, printed materials and posters promoting tourism Easter, after traveling Cuevas del Almanzora, where, after an introduction, will be exhibited in the castle of the Marquis of Vélez.

Later dates will do the same in the Convento de la Victoria de Vera in Almería Oliveros Mall.

The Councillor of Tourism is also anticipated that this exposure plan to move to the town of San Pedro del Pinatar, in order to attract foreign tourism existing in it.

The sample would be pinatarenses lands in March.
