The Mayor stressed the importance of reading among students as a learning tool and knowledge (24/04/2014)

Francisco Jodar has delivered this morning prizes XXIX edition of the Children's Story Competition "María Fernández-Luna," in which 16 schools participated and 1,200 stories.

The Mayor of Lorca, Francisco Jodar has delivered this morning corresponding to the XXIX edition of the Children's Story Competition "María Fernández-Luna," an act in which he stated that "there is no better way to celebrate the Day of Book Awards held yesterday, the merit of recognizing that young people who begin to move forward, with firm step, for the world of letters. Today we celebrate precisely the future of literature since the creations of these young writers as witnessed .'ve always thought that there are few more emotive events that reward those who have shared with readers his imagination and talent, their expressive power and enthusiasm through words, through a lovely stories, sympathetic, full of grace, and also reality.

The Mayor took the opportunity to encourage more young people to learn reading as a vehicle to feed the imagination and creativity.

And you know that you can have the Municipal Library Network to inspire you with the best stories of those books that expect you to fill you abráis caps adventure.

The mayor described the act as "a party in which the protagonists are young authors" who we should highlight their creative genius.

Note that in this event involved nearly 1,200 jobs.

This Award is held annually in our city in memory of the children's author lorquina María Fernández-Luna, who in 1996 donated to the Municipal Library fund all their works, with a large collection of children's literature.

This year has had the participation of schools Sun City, St. Francis of Assisi, Mother of God, Virgin de las Huertas, Juan Gonzalez, Narciso Yepes, San José, Ana Caicedo Richard, Sacred Heart, Pasico-Campillo, José Robles, Villaespesa, The Wire, Alfonso García López of Puri, Zarcilla and Avilés.
