The Governing Council has decided to reject the request of the Delegation of Almendricos to segregate the town of Lorca for not having justified the "notorious in the public interest that the Regional Law 5/1988 are required for the alteration of the municipal" expressed as the opinion of the Legal Council of the Region of Murcia.

Among other things, it is considered not sufficiently established that the new town was to have sufficient resources to fulfill the responsibilities of local, or that segregation involve an objective improvement in the provision of public services.
