The objectives of this program are to promote active aging, promote intergenerational relationships, encourage social participation through specific actions, contribute to the maintenance of memory using creativity, speech, visualization, story dramatization thereof and fill the blank time of our greatest positively and improving self esteem.

We also seek to facilitate exchange between elderly and other age groups, promoting a positive view of old age and aging in our society.

Ruiz Jodar explained that in this program the story will have multiple uses, in fact we will help to achieve several goals, such as being an intermediary to improve our relationships between children and the elderly (as its recreational component) and improve cognitive performance and memory of the elderly themselves, as the stories are told from memory, which also favors the stimulation of creativity to capture the attention of children.

Also, we will help find an occupation that improves the mood of this group through active participation in a pleasant and useful project.

Since it will be the motivator axis involvement in helping our elders telling stories to be useful in contributing and sharing their community with the special children of Lorca, common spaces.

Lorca, model active participation in projects for seniors.

This activity is part of the projects of the Department of Policy Staff, with which we intend to develop projects and activities such as this, in which players are our greatest assets, and one of the key objectives on which it works part of this Council is to provide our major projects in which they develop an active, direct participation, responding to a social reality, as the group of older people should not be viewed only as a passive recipient of action administrations, but as active sector have much to contribute, fleeing archaic stereotypes associated with their passivity and emphasis on functional dependency, rather than their potential.

Intergenerational programs are defined as means for intentional and ongoing exchange of resources and learning among older and younger generations in order to achieve individual and social benefits.

In this sense intended to encourage contact between generations of a locality creating real living spaces.

The benefits of intergenerational programs or activities are manifold both individually and collectively.

At the individual level, we can think about the personal satisfaction of meeting new people and feel recognized and valued.

Obviously, we also have the specific knowledge generated by the activity itself.

Collectively, we have to overcome stereotypes of different ages but especially the creation of new links nearby, especially at the neighborhood level, and social cohesion.

Also noteworthy, the mutual benefits that generate this type of programming in both older and our children.

The program objectives are:

• Encourage meeting spaces and interaction among seniors and children in the municipality of Lorca favoring his touch.
