Chorus and Dance Groups Huercal Overa, Cartagena and Lorca participate this year at the Children's folklore festival "Uncle Pillo" (05/06/2014)

The Councillor for Culture of the City of Lorca, Sandra Martinez, reported that the Group of Songs and Dances "Virgen de las Huertas" will develop "Sample Child Folklore IV D. Gabriel Gómez Martínez, Tio Pillo".

Note that this child folklore festival began in 2010 and each edition is done in a different point of Lorca, in order to bring our folklore all over the town.

This show was originally called "Valley Guadalentin" but after the recent death of Mr Gabriel Gómez Martínez, popularly known by the affectionate nickname "Uncle Pillo", the group decided to put his name to keep the figure of the founder who was alive of this group and devoted over 60 years to teach the younger folklore of the region.

The mayor of Culture has said that this new edition will take place on Monday, June 9, the feast of the Region of Murcia, at 20:30 h framed within the holiday village of Lorca Cazalla.

It is expected that with the participation of Songs and Dances "Virgen del Rio" Huercal Overa groups and the Songs and Dances and "City of Cartagena."

The Host Group, Virgin Songs and Dances of Children Huertas, will debut a work wardrobe with smaller, who will perform many traditional dances Lorca.
