The Councillor for Education explained that the work done by the Prime Lorca mayor has been very intense, leading the request expressed by the educational community aiming at maintaining this building.
Councillor of Education of the City of Lorca, Francisco Montiel, has reported that the steps taken by the city mayor, Francisco Jodar CARM have allowed, through the Ministry of Education, financial fitness repair José Ibáñez Martin Institute.
Montiel explained that the work done by the Prime Lorca mayor has been very intense, leading the request expressed by the educational community aimed at keeping this construction.
We thank the special sensitivity shown thereon by this Ministry, which has always been open to consensus on this issue.
Montiel Sanchez explained that this gym is housed within an educational complex in which two education centers are housed;
Secondary institutes and Francisco José Ibáñez Martín Ros Giner.
This construction corresponds to an isolated building typology and is complete with two constructions aimed at changing rooms, toilets and storage: a building attached to the right side and free side building, located at the back of the outhouse parle and very close to the front right side of the gym.
All the three buildings is a closed unit physically.
The gym is a rectangular building planted, about 31 x 11 meters and on one level with a height of 5'60-7'40 m, except in the main façade where two plants are considered: on the ground floor (under the stands) there are some rooms (office, step and toilet) and the staircase that accesses the said stands.
The outbuilding has a rectangular planted, about 8 x 9'50 meters, on one level with a height of 3,50 meters.
Exempt school building also has a rectangular, about 14 x 6 meters, on one level with a height of 3'50 meters.
According to the technical specifications, constructively, the gymnasium building is the oldest (around 1962-1964).
It is solved with load-bearing walls of brick.
The cover is domed in the sense of the facade of longer supported peripherally in reinforced bands of the walls, braced with pugs steel anchored in the bands mentioned and provided with cement mortar (the two top threads) and gypsum plaster (lower thread), the upper part topped with a compression layer and paved rasilla tile.
Francisco Montiel has also stated that the nominations made by the technical running repairs to be carried to term in the above mentioned property contemplate sealing cracks in load-bearing walls, repair the crack produced in the Coronation hoop meeting with the walls, strengthening of existing structural break in a section of the dome, repair of cracks in coatings, application of interior finish cracks.
In subsequent constructions related to the building itself gym would also be necessary to complete repairs battery.
