Almost 600.00 euros for conditioning the Archaeological Museum of Lorca (04/07/2014)

The Cabinet has approved an investment of almost € 600,000 to carry out the refurbishment and new museology of the permanent exhibition of the Archaeological Museum of Lorca.

This agreement is part of the Master Plan for the Recovery of Cultural Heritage Lorca, aims to regulate the grant to the City Council for the drafting and execution of works in the museum.

The Community, through the Ministry of Education, Culture and Universities, provide a total of 578,698 euros in two annuities.

In 2014 the grant is EUR 289 348 and EUR 289 350 2015.

The Archaeological Museum of Lorca is located in a unique building from the XVI century which has features of Renaissance and Baroque.

This is the restored home of the Salazar-Rosso, known as House of Rocafull Moreno.

The building takes its name from the two families of Genoese merchants who resided in the city and commissioned its construction.
