The Symphony Orchestra of the Region of Murcia and Madrid group Vetusta Morla presented this afternoon the CD Book that recorded in March 2012 in the Regional Auditorio Victor Villegas to raise funds for the reconstruction of the Conservatory Narciso Yepes of Lorca, which was severely damaged after the earthquakes of 2011.

The director general of the Institute of Cultural Industries and Arts, Marta Lopez-Briones said the solidarity nature of this initiative and stressed the active role of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Universities, which gave free the Auditorium Victor Villegas.

"It is an initiative with united purpose and the Ministry of Education, Culture and Universities was clear from the outset that it would work in all that he could, giving space and adding to the SORM a project that everyone involved showed their solidarity, "Lopez-Briones said.

The presentation was held at the premises of that Conservatory, whose reconstruction was completed this summer and that from this September again regains academic activity.

The work, plus a DVD and a special book about the gestation of the concerts, a CD with 15 songs that were presented to the public murciano two concerts at the Auditorio Victor Villegas included.

In addition to the interpretation of the SORM, which for that time was led by the teacher Jose Miguel Knee, several faculty members attended the conservatory orchestra review.

The success of this collaboration led to Vetusta Morla invite SORM a concert tour to their second album, 'Maps', which took place in November 2012 at the Teatro Circo Price in Madrid.

The versatility of the SORM has already led in the past to do similar collaborations with highly heterogeneous formations.

So, Murcia orchestra has performed, among others, artists like Joan Manuel Serrat, Milton Nascimento, Estrella Morente Vicente Amigo, Noa, Omara Portuondo, or more recently, Gregory Porter, who will return to action next month November within the Cartagena Jazz Festival.
