Garre stressed the "significant improvement" that will mean for the quality of life of Lorca urban regeneration neighborhood in San Diego (17/11/2014)

President of the Community, Alberto Garre, said today "significant improvement" that will involve the urban regeneration of the neighborhood of San Diego Lorca to the quality of life of their neighbors.

Some actions also have an impact on communication networks and public facilities in the neighborhood.

The prime minister, accompanied by the mayor of Lorca, Francisco Jodar, presided over the laying of the cornerstone of the regeneration works in this neighborhood Lorca, whose actions benefit some 5,000 residents, and have a lead time one year.

Three axes of revitalization

The four cores of existing green areas, which will improve their access and incorporate new athletic and recreational uses will be renewed.

They are connected to each other by a transverse corridor, Avenue of Europe, which is transformed into a large mall with four lanes, pedestrian walking and bike path, creating a green belt that serves organic connector to the neighborhood.

Financial support for reconstruction
