UPyD Lorca values "very negative" works that are being developed in the city because "do not meet the real needs" (10/02/2015)

For local delegate, Juan Manuel Cabrera these actions respond more to a "pre-election strategy" in the face appointments with the polls in the coming months, that truly meet the needs of many urban Lorca

The local representative of Union Progreso y Democracia (UPyD) in Lorca, Juan Manuel Cabrera, rated "very negative" how the works have been developed in different areas of the city.

In this context, Cabrera said that "we are convinced that all these actions are more like a pre-election strategy for appointments to the polls in the coming months that truly meet the needs of many urban Lorca".

As explained by the local delegate, the current controversy over the burial of transformers in the neighborhood of Vine or design modifications of the roundabout at the entrance to the neighborhood on the road to Granada, "are just some of the many examples of the lack of organization and planning of municipal government in these proceedings ".

In his opinion, especially it "embarrassing" it is argued that the transformers are covered aesthetically with the placement of an "artistic vine" in response to protests from neighbors.

From UPyD "We have been denouncing" since the beginning of these works that proceedings have been conducted "behind the backs of Lorca" and without taking into account the real needs of the city.

"We months enduring some works" continued Juan Manuel Cabrera, "that hinder our daily lives and are getting longer over time, just prior to the time set by law for public openings before the elections".

Likewise, Juan Manuel Cabrera has indicated that the executed works "will not solve the traffic problems in the city" since it continues to jam every morning, noon and evening to despair of Lorca.

All I suppose, "is an expenditure on renewal of sidewalks and streetlights placement" which can not then be maintained on all the time as the "City Hall has no money for the electric bill."

"Folding space for pedestrians lanes for cars is cut, and offers to share those lanes for cyclists, with the danger to the integrity of these has that kind of way."

It also insists the local delegate, "to top roundabouts have been placed at the ends where lanes are eliminated, and eventually become real bottlenecks ending collapsing circulation".

To conclude, Juan Manuel Cabrera noted that instead of addressing the real problems, "inoperative Popular Party government" continues to proclaim as new ideals proposals, projects already in its election eight years ago, and displaying " disability in its management and exhaustion in the city project "who have defended all these years.
