The Monitoring Committee of the Recovery Plan for Cultural Heritage of Lorca studied 15 projects (17/02/2015)

The Minister of Education, Culture and Universities, Pedro Antonio Sánchez, chaired this morning with the mayor of Lorca, Francisco Jodar, and the Bishop of Cartagena, Jose Manuel Lorca Planes, the meeting of the Monitoring Committee of the Recovery Plan for Cultural Heritage Lorca, in which 15 performances were studied in listed property.

In particular, the actions to be taken on three properties listed as a Cultural such as the Colegio San Francisco, Cloister of Our Señota del Carmen and Mena Tower of the hamlet of La Hoya and two classified as grade was analyzed 1 as pantheons individual and the Church of San Juan.

It will also analyzed the Commission, in which he displayed the Autonomous Community, the Ministry of Education, the City and Diocese of Cartagena, works in 12 properties classified as grade 2, two Consistory and other individuals and communities of owners.

Specifically, in the City, actions for Prison Yard (former Almudí) and the Old Archive were analyzed.

As for individual projects or communities of owners that were studied are the Palacio de los Condes de San Juan, House of Irurita, Casa de Ponce de León, López de Teruel House, House of O'Shea, Granero Decimal, facade of the furnaces and Casa Giménez Baduel.

Also result from other activities completed within the Master Plan was discussed, as are the two phases of the restoration of the Castle Wall, Tower of the Spur;

the Church of San Mateo;

Guevara Palace, the medieval gate of San Antonio Porch, the War Theater;

the Rosary Chapel and Church of Santo Domingo;

or the Church of San Cristóbal, among others.

The meeting of the Monitoring Committee, the Episcopal Palace was held on this occasion also served to confirm the commitment of all administrations and the Diocese of Cartagena to intensify work for the recovery of cultural heritage of Lorca, severely damaged after the earthquake of May 11, and to encourage companies and organizations to collaborate with donations to continue this recovery, declared an event of exceptional public interest.
