Songs and Dances of Lorca begins the celebration of its 70th anniversary (24/02/2015)

On February 28 and March 7, 98 people will take the stage of the Teatro Guerra to present 'Gift Gallery.

Landscapes and customs', while 6 to 8 March a hundred people from across the country will attend the annual meeting of FACYDE.

The Councillor for Culture and Celebrations of the City of Lorca, Sandra Martinez, president of the Group of Songs and Dances of Lorca, Inmaculada Martínez de Miquel, presented the activities that this group plans to begin the celebration of its 70th anniversary.

The mayor explained that the first events to be organized is presenting his new show 'Memories Gallery.

Landscapes and customs', in which 98 people will take the stage of the Teatro Guerra on February 28 and March 7 for the public to enjoy the new repertoire, a sign of cultural heritage ethnographic heritage of our city, full of traditions and customs of Lorca.

"Those who wish to attend the first performance can buy the ticket from yesterday until Thursday September 26 at 13:00 at the box office Lorca theater itself by 5 or 10 euros," said the president of the Songs and Dances Lorca.

On the other hand, Sandra Martinez has reported it has started the School of Folklore Songs and Dances of Lorca, a totally free activity that can engage both children and adults on Fridays from 20:00 to 21:00 at the headquarters of this group in Street Eugenio Úbeda for learning everything that has to do with these traditions, such as dance, cuisine, traditional games, clothing and instruments (guitar, lute, mandolin, ...).

In another vein, the Songs and Dances of Lorca are organizing along with the city's celebration at the Parador del Castillo de Lorca from 6 to March 8th Annual Congress of the Federation of Songs and Dances of Spain (FACYDE) , which have already confirmed their attendance a hundred congressmen.
