12 million to boost the recovery of economic and social activity Lorca (17/04/2015)

The Governing Council agreed to authorize a proposal from the Ministry of Development, Public Works and Planning, corresponding to a loan to the City of Lorca, amounting to 12 million euros spending.

Under this allocation is planned execution of actions allowing further promote the economic and social recovery of the city, after the earthquakes of 2011.

This agreement, which is funded by the Instituto de Crédito Oficial is intended actions of reconstruction and expansion of infrastructure of the city to promote economic and social activity and improve evacuation routes.

On the one hand, entrepreneurship and entrepreneurship will be reinforced to contribute to economic development through reconstruction Fairgrounds Santa Quiteria and expansion of the Center for Business Initiatives.

On the other hand, security will increase with the improvement of the escape routes from the city of Lorca in case of accident, and that will materialize with the construction of the Via evacuation access Lorca-South Central, which will involve the rehabilitation and expansion South Avenue from the Puente de Vallecas to Glorieta with RM-11.

600,000 euros for the temporary employment of unemployed in the town of Lorca

The Cabinet has approved a proposal of the Ministry of Presidency and Employment, a grant of 600,000 euros to the City of Lorca to finance the temporary employment of unemployed workers in the municipality for the execution of works or services of general and social interest within the framework of the project 'Lorca + Employment', aimed at the reconstruction and recovery after the earthquakes.

With this, the labor costs of 83 people unemployed for conducting a series of works or services related to the damage caused by earthquakes shall be borne.

Specifically, hiring up to 42 people, aged between 30 and 60, is provided in the form of contract for work or service, while through the type of contract in practice 41 young people will be employed.

Thus, obtaining adequate level of education or training completed practice is facilitated.

It is envisaged that this grant could be financed 80 percent by the Operational Programme of the European Social Fund in the Region of Murcia 2014-2020, once approved by the European Commission.
