The candidate of Unión Progreso y Democracia mayor of Lorca, Juan Manuel Cabrera, proposes a new urban plan based on criteria of efficiency, energy savings and home automation, prioritizing rehabilitation and reconstruction of houses.
In his view, the management by the municipal government team in the last four years concerning the reconstruction of the city "has meant the loss of a unique opportunity to solve many of the problems that drag Lorca for his model sprawl" .
"This is a proposal based on the amount and extent of the vehicles, rather than focusing on people", which accused of "error".
In this sense, Cabrera believes that "instead of opting for a comprehensive and integrated solution for all administrations, has been chosen to rebuild the same in the same conditions, perpetuating the problem of urban city."
UPyD proposes to make public housing company that is responsible for reconstruction, offering new locations on public land to which it is endowed with all kinds of services and urban transport so as to be attractive.
"This is creating a new Lorca to provide the quality of life for citizens which are currently not in a poorly designed, overcrowded and with poor conditions of access to basic services such as cleaning or emergency evacuation neighborhoods."
This design will allow some rebuilding spaces can be devoted to green and leisure areas Lorca needs.
