IU-green critical works of Santa Quiteria (29/05/2015)

United Left Greens regret that the Popular Party leaves office in front of the Municipal Government with large-scale works that have not been subject to social and political consensus, which have not been submitted for consideration by the municipal council, and are also offering new Urban landscapes of desolation with the destruction of buildings and loss of large trees.

The start of construction on the fairgrounds in Santa Quiteria, which are destroying the existing exhibition halls, and where large trees have been uprooted, has been the most emphatic criticism from municipal spokesman of the political formation of the Left United Green Jose Garcia Murcia, arguing that the huge investment (around 12 million euros) with the remodeling of the exhibition center and the construction of an auditorium is undertaken, is not the priority right now, where investments should be prioritized production, which is the case of the new slaughterhouse, whose work could participate in a major public percentage translated into action, and would result in the creation of large number of stable jobs.

Or as in the past has also said the United Left Greens, distributing the economic pillar in neighborhood cultural facilities, more manageable, with less cost and more useful and profitable for the population dessert.

Which is not to say that the exhibition did not need some improvement with subsequent remodeling of the surrounding streets.

Furthermore, and not least, José García Murcia highlights any new development should respect fully the existing trees, given the special climatic conditions prevailing in our latitudes and still Lorca is a city as large deficit of trees.

Recall that the PP from the beginning of its mandate (this) has only just uproot trees.

Basten as an example the case of the refurbishment of the Virgen de las Huertas malls and Fajardo El Bravo.

In this sense, IU-Green recalls the loss of trees that have led all urban regeneration projects to date and intends to take strong measures against the destruction of trees, in addition to reiterating its firm commitment to an ambitious plan for both urban reforestation and in the mountains to counter climate effect.
