In the construction of the Exhibition and Congress Centre of the city of Lorca, located at the fairgrounds in Santa Quiteria, already completed phase earthwork, foundation and structure.
In implementing the project, a group of 70 professionals of various trades involved in two shifts daily.
The excavation of 30,000 cubic meters of earth has been completed and has been made the foundation, the new basement and ramps.
At present, being completed phase of the building enclosure, after all of the concrete structure and most of the metal has been executed almost, for which so far have been used 7,000 cubic meters of concrete, 400,000 kilos of steel and 4,000 square meters of precast concrete.
This phase of the work is being developed with 80 percent of Feder Funds of the European Union that have been pre-financed by the Community, while the remaining 20 percent comes from the central government through the sweepstakes finalist of the National Lottery.
When the works of this phase is scheduled to urban renewal continued with the trade fair, sponsored by the Regional Government under a loan from the European Investment Bank (EIB).
Once all phases of construction, the new Exhibition and Conference Centre will have the capacity to accommodate a total of 13,600 people.
The facility will accommodate more than 10,300 people in the multipurpose room and exhibition space, nearly 1,000 in the auditorium, 2,000 in the covered patio, and three rooms with capacity for 252 spectators, 100 and 80, respectively.
