The PSOE councilor in the city of Lorca, Maria Antonia Garcia Jimenez today took stock of the celebration of the festivities in honor of the patron of Lorca, San Clemente.
A party which, thanks to the work of the Holiday-Cultural Federation San Clemente, has kept our city a year immersed in a large number of activities and events to remember, throughout this week, the deepest cultural roots of Lorca .
Garcia Jimenez, who praised the outcome of this celebration as "successful and very positive for the city", took the opportunity to propose a series of improvements to be considered by the team's governing Popular Party in the city ahead of the 2016 edition, with the aim of "making this festival continues to thrive and contribute, in turn, to the necessary revival of Lorca in economic, trade and cultural matters".
In this sense, the socialist mayor has assessed the possibility of moving the location of the Medieval Market to the Plaza of Spain.
With this new location for 2016, from the PSOE they believe that would be an "excellent opportunity to give life to the dead and off old town".
From a coherent vision with the needs of our city and the nature of this "medieval celebration," says Garcia Jimenez of Spain's Square, "the eyes of any person, the best possible scenario" for two reasons: "The first to house the Medieval Market in a "special and suitable" for it, and second, enclave "perfect opportunity to bring Lorca and visitors to an area with shops and bars revival is urgent and essential".
Finally, from the PSOE they reaffirm their commitment to contribute to the task of further invigorate the organization of this celebration in Lorca "together with proposals that respect the idiosyncrasies of this festive cultural recreation and responsive to the needs of our city, and of course, with the help of the Federation of San Clemente. "
