The Cabinet has approved a proposal of the Ministry of Culture and Spokesperson, the delimitation of environment protection of cultural interest (BIC) of cave paintings all the coats of the Mojao and Los Gavilanes, located in the Marsh area Valdeinfierno Lorca.
The agreement sets the description, delimitation and protection criteria BIC with Monument category, according to the allegations, reports and technical studies, and has favorable reports from the University of Murcia and Real Academy Alfonso X the Wise.
This complex is located in the foothills of the Sierra del Pericay, next to the natural passage through the Rambla Seca connects the valley Luchena (Lorca) with the region Warden (Murcia and Almeria).
This is a prehistoric settlement, possibly from the Late Neolithic, and the paintings are are schematic and Levantine character with a hunting scene, in the case of The Mojao;
and schematic character in Los Gavilanes, with the uniqueness of a fully impregnated continuously with red pigment rocky ledge.
The delimitation of Good covers the rocky Farrallon where the two shelters are located with cave art, The Mojao and Los Gavilanes, and the site located at the top.
This perimeter is polygonal, heart-shaped, and bounded on the north by the current fronts of the quarry;
to the west it runs through the foothills of the hill where the settlement is prehistoric;
and east along the hillside until connecting with one of the access lists to the quarry.
