The City Council and the Autonomous Region meet with the residents of 24 streets in the neighborhood of San Cristobal (31/01/2016)

During this week the Mayor, Francisco Jodar, and the Director General deOrdenación Planning, Architecture and Housing, Nuria Fuentes, met with the inhabitants of the first routes of the area where the Consistory perform works by a grant from the Ministry of Public Works and Infrastructure.

In two meetings, in which also participated the Councillor for Works, Eulalia Ibarra, and the neighborhood, Juan Miguel Bayonas, among other members of the government team, it has been released to the concerned projects Mulero streets, Gilberte, Teruel, Ponce de León, April, Rio Duero, Contreras, blight, Zamora, Zambrana, Moncada, Santo Cristo, Carreño, Miguel Rodriguez, Pedro Alcantara, Pedro Prison, Cruise Sandoval, Pedro Guillen, Marquez Streets Ferrer, Crossing Abellaneda Peralta, Mula, Joy and adjacent.

The total amount invested in these streets totaling more than 2.5 million euros, which will be acted on 14,839 m2.

Francisco Jodar explained that "in the last eight years have improved the City Council 46 streets of San Cristobal and now, with the assistance of the regional president, Pedro Antonio Sánchez, and the Minister Francisco Barnabas, we will honor our election commitment to end the remodeling of the district, improving a total of 58 roads over which we will present in meetings to have community involvement. "

Most of these streets keep a similar surface treatment that has been carried out in previous actions in the area, demolishing the current and installing paving stones of different colors to differentiate the space for pedestrians.

The works include the replacement of the sewage and drinking water as well as the installation of an independent network of rainwater harvesting in areas where the technical criteria directed.

The intervention in those ways includes the installation of new type LED lamps, energy saving, and the underground wiring that gives supply to the street lighting.

In addition, a network of pipes will be created for companies to supply electricity and telecommunications cables can eliminate the facades.

Among the objectives are marked these actions are improving accessibility, services and aesthetics of the streets of the hillocks of Barrio de San Cristobal and its surroundings.
