The competition for the restoration of the churches of San Juan, San Pedro and Santa Maria receives 21 projects (04/07/2008)

The spokesman of the government team Lorca Town Hall and Municipal Employment and Social Services, Lali Ibarra has reported that yesterday at noon is the deadline for submission of projects in the notice of competition for the recovery and rehabilitation of churches San Juan, Santa Maria and San Pedro, in the districts, having submitted a total of 21 proposals.

Lali Ibarra stressed that "this move is another step in the recovery of our heritage and our neighborhoods especially high, with the Government that this team is very committed, as has been seen with the implementation of Pibal and achievement of European funds from the Urban Community Initiative. "

On Monday the jury meets

Next Monday will meet for the first time the jury to hear the proposals, to be chaired by the mayor, Francisco Jodar, and consists of twelve persons among which the Director of Fine Arts Regional Government, Enrique Ujaldón, municipal engineers and Autonomous Community, as well as representatives of the association of architects and civic groups, among others.

The projects presented to the Church of Santa Maria have called Coexistence, VT 2013, 100 years of solitude, Dessi 2; Cessal, October 12 and Chlorophyll.

For their part, concerning the church of San Pedro are the pseudonyms of Coexistence, MT 1618; Dessi 1; Lorca: city of ideas Cessal, June 29 and Chlorophyll.

Ideas for San Juan are called Coexistence; CMRSJ; Dessi 3; Lorca: city of ideas Cessal, June 24 and Chlorophyll.

As you may recall the contest of ideas for the church of Santa Maria is equipped with a first prize of 15,000 euros and up to three mentions of 2,000 euros, while the other two have a first prize of 12,000 euros and up to three mentions of $ 2,000.

Ibarra said that "in just one year in office and have the projects and funding to initiate the recovery of these churches, the symbol of our old town, and have been abandoned and deteriorating for so many years."

Upon completion of the work of the jury, it is the intention of the government team make a presentation to the papers so they can be referred to by the people of Lorca.
