The Ministry of Agriculture and Water extending until 2010 the agreement signed with the Spanish Association of Breeders of the Murciano-Grenadine goat (Acrimur) and professional agricultural organizations COAG-IR, ADEA-ASAJA and UPA for an assessment program players in the facilities of the Selection and Breeding Goats of Lorca.
The objective of this agreement is to conduct a program evaluation of sires of the breed goats Murciano-Grenadine, according to the selection scheme of the race that includes the production of quality milk and fat, protein and solids such production.
The Community is conducting a policy aimed at the improvement and conservation of livestock breeds in the region and in this regard, the Ministry of Agriculture and Water is conducting various activities to optimize goat farms, considered essential for the Community Livestock Development Autonomous.
Precisely in order to support the sector in all these improvement initiatives, the Ministry has built and operated the Regional Centre for Livestock Breeding and Selection in Lorca Caprino.
